Description
This rectangle Moorish mirror is framed like a carved window. Its pointed top panel holds a scrolled metal crest, and the two front door panels carry long filigree metal ornaments over bands of striped bone.
The frame is made of hand carved bone and hand embossed metal over a wood foundation, in the Camel White color. Mirrors in this style come from the souks (markets) of Marrakesh and are usually called camel bone mirrors. It fits nicely beside a front door, above a small chest or in a powder room.
